SWAP RC meeting 10-15-07 Greg Gee called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM, at the Hobby Town race track. He thanked everyone for coming to the meeting. 17 people attended, including Min Tan from CBRC. Minutes for the September meeting were read, voted on and approved. Financial report was presented by the treasurer, voted on and approved, OLD BUSINESS Dirt moving party, Greg thanked everyone who showed up on September 29 that helped spread the dirt out in the duck pond. We had a good turn out and Josh supplied a dump truck and bobcat with a mechanical rake for the rocks. Unfortunately, a hydraulic line was run over and we had to rake it the old fashioned way. Thanks to Wayne, the FD sprayed water on it. _______________ Fun fly on the 28th of October was announced again, Mike Crum is going to run the fly. _______________ As read in the minutes we need a volunteer for the treasurer position. _______________ Dave Parkinson will do one more newsletter and get a mailing out for the vote on the quorum at next meeting. _______________ We are again having trouble with the lock at the front gate, someone keeps taking it. So we are going to change the combo and get a heftier chain. Lock should be locked through the county lock and then we can tell if it is a club member or if someone is cutting the chain link and taking it. Rodney will supply a heavier chain and a new lock and combo will be put on. _______________ More safety concerns were brought up with a member. Greg talked to the member and expressed our concerns to him and thought everything was getting on track. Wayne gave some new documentation tonight to Greg about a couple of serious incidents with this member, and some inconsiderate actions. We need other people who observe this member to turn in reports also; more than one person is needed so this member gets due process. NEW BUSINESS Art made a proposal for next years TOC for the raffle plane after several suggestions it was decided on an 81” Lancair. This was voted on and approved unanimously. _______________ Art also made a proposal that can help the club make some money and also benefit himself. He has a great looking SELDOM flown P-51 hanging in the hobby shop for sale. He made a suggestion that the club raffle off the plane for $5/ticket and limit the sale of tickets to 500. This way we can give him the $1500 he is selling the plane for and the club will make $1000. Art would not take payment until all tickets are sold and the plane is ready to give away. Plane would be raffled when all tickets are sold. _______________ Art volunteered to do invoices for the renewal of club dues. New member Dave Ort told him that if they could get together he could print and supply postage for the mailing. Art agreed to get together with him. _______________ It was mentioned that since we start meetings at 6:30 when at the flying field, maybe we could start them at Hobby Towne at the same time instead of 7:30. after discussion it was decided on to start meetings at hobby town at 7PM and at the field still at 6:30PM. Voted on and passed. _______________ Sale of items with the club logo was brought up again to find out where it stands. Greg stated that Jason was working on that and should be ready this week. Show and Tell Ed Goldberg brought in his new electric larger scale P-51 mustang with retracts. This is a 3-31/2 pound plane and really looks sharp. Look for it at the field late summer 2008. Ed is moving up in size with his planes now. Meeting was adjourned at 8:30 PM - 1 -
